Lavonne Morris Westbrooks
Lavonne Westbrooks was born Lavonne Ann Morris in Savannah, Georgia. Daughter of a girl from London, England and a boy from Ochlocknee, Georgia, who met and married after five days. Her father was a printer and as a baby she spent many days nestled in the bottom drawer of a chest in the print shop. Ink is in her blood. She attended college briefly until another path called. Two children, one husband, and a career as a graphic artist ensued. She spent eighteen years as a youth leader with Camp Fire USA (a venerable institution.) Retired from AT&T, she lives in Suwanee, Georgia where she divides her time between an editorship with PoetryCircle.com and Bridale Events, her event planning business. She also designs craft projects, greeting cards, and wedding cakes.

They used to marry very fast, didn’t they? Makes me think of a line in Pride and Prejudice where the friend advises Elizabeth that Jane should make her feelings known to Mr. Bingham quickly, etc. because it is better to wed quickly before too much is known about the intended . . .
Home again, but tired tired. Wonder what’s up with mugs?
